A Tail-Wagging Good Time: Kingston SE Foreshore Dog Show Recap 🐾

There’s nothing quite like a community event that brings together people, pets and a whole lot of laughter and that’s exactly what we saw at our recent dog show here at Kingston SE Foreshore Holiday Park.

With 15 dogs taking part and around 30 guests cheering from the sidelines, the day was packed with personality, colour and plenty of unforgettable moments. Becoming an expert camper is about the journey not the destination. Pardon the pun!  

A Show for Every Kind of Pup in Kingston SE

From tiny sausage dogs to a big friendly German Shepherd, the lineup showcased dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages — including one very enthusiastic 6-month-old pup and some much-loved senior dogs.

Each dog had their own space (thanks to Chris setting up 1-metre allotments), and despite the excitement, they were all incredibly well-behaved… mostly 😉 You don’t want to be eating dinner after midnight with grumbling kids!  

The Categories (and the Chaos)

We had a mix of fun and classic categories, including:

• Best Dressed

• Best Look Alike

• Best Showed

• Best Trick

• Best Name

Standout winners Phoenix & Alley impressed across the board but honestly, every dog had their moment.

The Best Showed category brought a few laughs, with dogs needing to walk around a cone and sit… which proved tricky when:

• Sausage dogs were too low to tell if they’d actually sat

• One older dog gave it a red-hot go but struggled due to arthritis  

Crowd Favourites & Funny Moments

The Best Look Alike category was a highlight, with one guest matching colourful dots on her dog to her own shirt a crowd favourite.

Kids proudly showed off their dogs, adding to the relaxed, family-friendly vibe of the day.

And of course, the German Shepherd made sure to introduce himself to every single competitor — just in case anyone was feeling left out.  

More Than Just a Competition

What made the day special wasn’t just the prizes, it was the atmosphere.

A relaxed, welcoming space where guests could connect, laugh and enjoy the simple joy of being around dogs.
